In this section, we will be discussing the phenomenon of people weeping as they encounter the power of the Holy Spirit. Unlike all the phenomena discussed so far, there is only one manifestation that occurs in this area, i.e. people weeping in the Spirit. For unlike laughing, people do not pretend to weep in the Spirit, simply because the flesh has no desire to do so. And it is also interesting to note that demonic powers do not manifest themselves in this way either. You will also never hear “ministers” of the gospel, encouraging people to begin weeping “by faith” in the natural, so that the Spirit of God can then take over eventually, thus causing the believer to begin weeping in the Spirit. This phenomenon is not to be confused with people weeping in the natural because their emotions have been stirred up in some way. It is also not to be confused with saints weeping before the Lord as they are burdened in prayer.
