2 Corinthians 12:12 “Truly the signs of an apostle were accomplished among you with all perseverance, in signs and wonders and mighty deeds.” The most common working of miracles in the church age, are getting people born-again, casting out demons and baptising the saints with the Holy Spirit. Acts 8:5-12 “Then Philip went down to the city of Samaria and preached Christ to them. (6) And the multitudes with one accord heeded the things spoken by Philip, hearing and seeing the miracles which he did. … (12) But when they believed Philip as he preached the things concerning the kingdom of God and the name of Jesus Christ, both men and women were baptized.” The first example of the working of miracles which we will look at in this section is the miracle of multitud

1 Corinthians 12:8-10 “for to one is given the word of wisdom through the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge through the same Spirit, (9) to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healings by the same Spirit, (10) to another the working of miracles.” Just as with the gifts of healings, there are those who have received the gift of working of miracles. These are individuals who are more anointed by the Holy Spirit to operate in the area of the working

2 Corinthians 5:18 “Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.” Before we look at the gift of the working or miracles we need to recognise that just as with the gifts of healings, scripture also reveals two main methods that the Lord uses to work miracles through His saints. The two methods are; working miracles through the prayer of faith and working miracles through the spiritual gift

John 5:19-21 “Then Jesus answered and said to them, "Most assuredly, I say to you, the Son can do nothing of Himself, but what He sees the Father do; for whatever He does, the Son also does in like manner. (20) For the Father loves the Son, and shows Him all things that He Himself does; and He will show Him greater works than these, that you may marvel. (21) For as the Father raises the dead and gives life to them, even so the Son gives life to whom He will.” And so we

Acts 5:14-16 “And believers were increasingly added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women, (15) so that they brought the sick out into the streets and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might fall on some of them. (16) Also, a multitude gathered from the surrounding cities to Jerusalem, bringing sick people and those who were tormented by unclean spirits, and they were all healed.” Unlike healing through the prayer of faith

Acts 28:8-9 “And it happened that the father of Publius lay sick of a fever and dysentery. Paul went in to him and prayed, and he laid his hands on him and healed him. (9) So, when this was done, the rest of those on the island who had diseases also came and were healed.” The above quoted passage of scripture is a classic example of how this gift operates. Matthew 10:1 “And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.” In this section we will discuss the second method of healing, i.e. healing through the spiritual gift called “gifts of healings”. One who has this gift is specifically anointed by the Holy Spirit to heal the sick. So what does that mean? It simply means that they are carriers of God’s heali
