The tree of life

Revelation 2:7 “He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches. To him who overcomes I will give to eat from the tree of life, which is in the midst of the Paradise of God.”

Revelation 22:1-2 “And he showed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding from the throne of God and of the Lamb. (2) In the middle of its street, and on either side of the river, was the tree of life, which bore twelve fruits, each tree yielding its fruit every month. The leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.”

Another point that will differentiate the saints from the children of God, in the age to come, is access to the tree of life. There are many that think, that all will have access to the fruit of the tree of life, in the age to come, but that is not correct. For as mentioned in the first passage of scripture quoted above, it is only those who overcome, i.e. the saints, that Jesus will give access to eat of the fruit of the tree of Life. Whereas, we see in the second passage of scripture quoted above, that the nations living outside the city of Jerusalem will have access to the leaves of the tree of Life but not its fruit. The scripture tells us that they will need access to its leaves, for their healing. That does not mean that sickness will be prevalent in the new earth, for we know that sickness will not be present there, for sickness is a curse, and God has said that there will be no more curse there (Revelation 22:3). But rather the leaves of the tree of Life will be used for maintaining the health and vitality, of the peoples of the earth.
