The saints will judge – Part 2

Luke 11:31-32 “The queen of the South will rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation and condemn them, for she came from the ends of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and indeed, a greater than Solomon is here. (32) The men of Nineveh will rise up in the judgment with this generation and condemn it, for they repented at the preaching of Jonah; and indeed, a greater than Jonah is here.”

In the above passage of scripture, our Lord Jesus taught us very clearly, that it is the saints of God that will act as judges on the day of judgement. For in the examples given to us by the Lord, both the queen of the South and the men of Nineveh, being believers under the old covenant, are included in the church today. Clearly in these examples, both the queen of the South and the men of Nineveh will be pronouncing judgement on the unbelievers by condemning them. And so, just as these saints will be used by God to judge His enemies, so all the saints of God will be used by Him to judge His enemies on that day.

1 Corinthians 6:2-3 “Do you not know that the saints will judge the world? And if the world will be judged by you, are you unworthy to judge the smallest matters? (3) Do you not know that we shall judge angels? How much more, things that pertain to this life?”

The Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul plainly tells us in the above passage of scripture, that it is the church that will judge all the unbelievers on that day. But we also see from this passage, that it is not only the unbelievers that the saints will judge on that day, but we will also judge all of Satan’s angels, which include all demons. And so, we see that God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, have given over to the church, the judging of all of the creation of God. As this judgement is eternal, it is truly an awesome responsibility that the Lord Jesus has given to His church.
