Hebrews 9:7-11 “But into the second part the high priest went alone once a year, not without blood, which he offered for himself and for the people's sins committed in ignorance; (8) the Holy Spirit indicating this, that the way into the Holiest of All was not yet made manifest while the first tabernacle was still standing. (9) It was symbolic for the present time in which both gifts and sacrifices are offered which cannot make him who performed the service perfect in regard to the conscience-- (10) concerned only with foods and drinks, various washings, and fleshly ordinances imposed until the time of reformation. (11) But Christ came as High Priest of the good things to come, with the greater and more perfect tabernacle not made with hands, that is, not of this creation.”
The above passage of scripture again confirms the truth to us, that there remains a veil between God and His creation at this present time. For this passage says that the way into the Holiest of All has not yet been made manifest, while the first tabernacle is still standing. Bearing in mind, that the first tabernacle was still standing at the time the Holy Spirit wrote this letter through His apostle. Some have mistakenly thought that the first tabernacle was done away with in 70 AD when it was destroyed by Rome. But that is not the case at all, for that tabernacle will be rebuilt and remain in place until the end of our Lord’s millennial reign, for our Lord Jesus will reign from that same temple. And so, it is only at the end of the thousand year reign of Christ that the first tabernacle will be done away with, and then and only then, will the way into the Holiest of All be made manifest for men, and we will see God the Father face to face for the first time. Therefore, God will only remove the veil and reveal His face once again, when He destroys the current heavens and the current earth, which is why the scripture says that the earth and the heaven fled away from the “face” of Him Who is seated on the throne (Revelation 20:11). And so, we see that God will have to destroy the current heavens as well, for because of His holiness, it is impossible for God to be in the presence of that which has been defiled. As an aside, we must not confuse the veil that is currently before the presence of God in heaven, with the veil that lies on the hearts of unbelievers, which is taken away in Christ (2 Corinthians 3:16), for they are two separate veils.
