The heavens will pass away – Part 3

Hebrews 9:19-24 “For when Moses had spoken every precept to all the people according to the law, he took the blood of calves and goats, with water, scarlet wool, and hyssop, and sprinkled both the book itself and all the people, (20) saying, "This is the blood of the covenant which God has commanded you." (21) Then likewise he sprinkled with blood both the tabernacle and all the vessels of the ministry. (22) And according to the law almost all things are purified with blood, and without shedding of blood there is no remission. (23) Therefore, it was necessary that the copies of the things in the heavens should be purified with these, but the heavenly things themselves with better sacrifices than these. (24) For Christ has not entered the holy places made with hands, which are copies of the true, but into heaven itself, now to appear in the presence of God for us.”

In the above passage of scripture, the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul confirms the truth to us that the tabernacle of God in heaven had been defiled and had to be cleansed. For in this passage, we see that Moses had to purify the copy of the heavenly tabernacle, with the blood of animals. But then the Holy Spirit goes on to tell us that the heavenly tabernacle also had to be cleansed, but with the blood of a better sacrifice, i.e. with the blood of Jesus Christ. God’s temple is located above all the heavens. And so, we see that when Lucifer sinned, that he passed through all the heavens to enter the tabernacle of God. When he did that, his sin defiled those same heavens. And so, even though Satan was cast out from heaven, the damage so to speak, had already been done, because his sin had already defiled those heavens.

Hebrews 6:19-20 “This hope we have as an anchor of the soul, both sure and steadfast, and which enters the Presence behind the veil, (20) where the forerunner has entered for us, even Jesus, having become High Priest forever according to the order of Melchizedek.”

And so, it was as a result of Lucifer’s sin, that God placed a veil between Himself and the rest of His creation. For all of God’s creation, including His tabernacle had been defiled. As revealed in the above passage of scripture, at this present time, Jesus is the only one Who can enter the presence behind the veil. This is the reason why no one has ever seen God (1 John 4:12).
