Psalms 115:15-16 “May you be blessed by the Lord, Who made heaven and earth. (16) The heaven, even the heavens, are the Lord's; But the earth He has given to the children of men.”
Heaven is not the domain of mankind, for God has created man to live on the earth. The Holy Spirit in the above passage of scripture confirms that truth for us. And so, even though all saints and children that have fallen asleep currently reside in heaven, that is not their final destination, for all will ultimately reside on God’s new earth. That is the main reason why scripture reveals almost nothing to us as to what heaven is like, because heaven is the domain of angels and not men.
Luke 2:13-15 “And suddenly there was with the angel a multitude of the heavenly host praising God and saying: (14) "Glory to God in the highest, And on earth peace, goodwill toward men!" (15) So, it was, when the angels had gone away from them into heaven, that the shepherds said to one another, "Let us now go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has come to pass, which the Lord has made known to us.”
The above passage is just one of many in scripture, which teach us the truth that heaven is the domain of angels. In this passage, we see a multitude of angels appearing on the earth at the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. But the passage ends with those same angels ascending back into heaven, after Christ was born. There are literally billions of angels living in heaven, far more than men that live on the earth. And as already mentioned, the bible is silent on the subject of what heaven is like, particularly where the angels of God dwell. We know that angels eat food in heaven (Psalm 78:25), but other than that we know almost nothing else. The bible, in the books of Isaiah and Revelation, does give us some insight into what the tabernacle of God in heaven is like, and also what the heavenly city of Jerusalem is like. The reason for that is because men will have access to both in the ages to come. But because heaven is not our domain, God in His wisdom, has not made known to us just what heaven is like, whether it be the first, second or third heaven (2 Corinthians 12:2). And so I personally find it amazing, that so many myriads of books have been written describing what heaven is like, when God Himself has revealed nothing to us on the subject. Obviously the authors of those books are either deceived or are themselves deceivers. For even the apostle Paul, who was taken into heaven on two separate occasions, was not permitted by God to reveal to us what he saw (2 Corinthians 12:2-4), except to say that it was far better than this life (Philippians 1:23).
