Job 4:12-15 “Now a word was secretly brought to me, and my ear received a whisper of it. (13) In disquieting thoughts from the visions of the night, When deep sleep falls on men, (14) Fear came upon me, and trembling, which made all my bones shake. (15) Then a spirit passed before my face; the hair on my body stood up.”
The above passage of scripture describes one of Job’s friends having an encounter with a demonic spirit, and his reaction of fear and trembling. And so, it may be possible for baby believers who don’t know their authority in Christ, to have encounters with demonic spirits and begin to tremble because of fear in such an encounter. That phenomenon will not take place in a Christian gathering however, for there is far too much light present for any demonic spirit to make themselves manifest in such a way. And so, very clearly believers will not begin to tremble in a Christian meeting as a result of a demonic power being manifested.
This brings us to the discussion of people pretending to tremble in the Spirit. This is not a manifestation that is found in the flesh, because as we have seen in this section, it is the fear of the Lord that comes upon an individual that causes them to tremble, and the flesh has no fear of the Lord, and thus has no desire to mimic such behaviour.
