Psalms 45:8-15 “All Your garments are scented with myrrh and aloes and cassia, Out of the ivory palaces, by which they have made You glad. (9) Kings' daughters are among Your honourable women; At Your right hand stands the queen in gold from Ophir. (10) Listen, O daughter, Consider and incline your ear; forget your own people also, and your father's house; (11) so the King will greatly desire your beauty; because He is your Lord, worship Him. (12) And the daughter of Tyre will come with a gift; the rich among the people will seek your favour. (13) The royal daughter is all glorious within the palace; her clothing is woven with gold. (14) She shall be brought to the King in robes of many colours; the virgins, her companions who follow her, shall be brought to You. (15) With gladness and rejoicing they shall be brought; they shall enter the King's palace.”
As already mentioned, the above Psalm describes our Lord, His palace and the bride of Christ, in the heavenly Jerusalem. This passage describes all of our Lord’s garments, as being scented with myrrh, aloes and cassia. Clearly, our Lord has more than one garment. And so therefore, we can deduce that in His palace, He has a room where His garments are kept and are scented by the angels that minister to Him. The same passage, describes the bride of Christ as being brought to Him in robes of many colours. And so, it is more than likely that the saints will have many different robes of many different colours and that their garments will also be kept in a room for the saints to change in. Their robes will also be scented, and it will also be angels that will prepare the various garments for the saints to wear. The comparable type of rooms that we have in this life would be a bedroom where most people keep their clothes. The main difference in the room in the age to come however is the absence of a bed. The reason there will be no beds in the homes of the saints, is because the saints will never sleep. There are three other rooms that we use in this life, that will be absent in the age to come, i.e. bathrooms, toilets and entertainment rooms. The reason there will be no bathrooms, is because the saints will never need to bathe, because they will live in a perfect environment where their bodies will never perspire. The saints will also never need the use of toilet facilities. The reason for that, is because their resurrected bodies will have no stomachs (1 Corinthians 6:13). And so, even though they will partake of natural foods during meal times, that food will simply dematerialise within their resurrected bodies. And then lastly, the saints will not need entertainment rooms for the simple reason that, as in heaven currently, there is no such thing as television, computers, internet, etc, in the New Jerusalem.
