This brings us to the aspect of people pretending to laugh in the Spirit. In most instances, when people pretend to laugh in the Spirit it is embarrassingly obvious to everyone that they are operating in the flesh, and so this practice is not frequently found in the church. Laughter however, is contagious in the natural. So what does that mean? It simply means that when people observe others laughing, a natural reaction that occurs is to at least smile and in some instances to begin laughing as well. And so, it may be that in meetings where people are laughing in the Spirit or even laughing by a demonic spirit, that others in the congregation that observe such behaviour, will themselves begin to laugh. However their laughter will not be in the spirit but rather in the natural, as they react in the natural to others around them that are laughing in the spirit.
