Genesis 3:16 “To the woman He said: "I will greatly multiply your sorrow and your conception; in pain you shall bring forth children; your desire shall be for your husband, and he shall rule over you.”
Childbirth in the age to come will not be like it is today, i.e. a painful experience. For as we see in the above passage of scripture, part of the curse, is bringing forth children in pain. In the new age, God will restore childbirth to the way that He always intended it to be, i.e. a joyful experience and not a painful experience at all.
Isaiah 60:18-22 “Violence shall no longer be heard in your land, neither wasting nor destruction within your borders; But you shall call your walls Salvation, and your gates Praise. (19) "The sun shall no longer be your light by day, nor for brightness shall the moon give light to you; But the Lord will be to you an everlasting light, And your God your glory. (20) Your sun shall no longer go down, nor shall your moon withdraw itself; For the Lord will be your everlasting light, And the days of your mourning shall be ended. (21) Also, your people shall all be righteous; they shall inherit the land forever, the branch of My planting, the work of My hands, That I may be glorified. (22) A little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation. I, the Lord, will hasten it in its time.”
The above passage of scripture also refers to the age to come, in the heavenly city on God’s new earth. In this passage, the Holy Spirit mentions something about the saints of the Lord that seems a bit confusing. For in it, the Holy Spirit says that a little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation, thus indicating that the saints will experience a growth in numbers. So how is it possible that the saints will grow in numbers, if they themselves will not have any children? The answer lies in the saved nations that will dwell in the new earth, for those nations will form part of the saint’s inheritance. For the scripture teaches us, that our Lord has made us to be kings, and we shall reign with Him for all eternity. And so, it is the children of God that will make up the nations of the earth, over which the church will reign for all eternity. However, not all saints will receive the same level of authority as kings, for as our Lord taught us, some will govern ten cities while others will govern five cities, etc (Luke 19:17-19). And some will start out only governing a small hamlet for example. Nevertheless, as time progresses, all the nations of the earth will begin to increase in number as they begin to multiply in the earth, and so in that manner, a little one shall become a thousand and a small one a strong nation.
