Keep in mind that this series is designed to provide a biblical framework for believers regarding our encounters with the Holy Spirit. Because these encounters are supernatural, we are not to be ignorant about what the word of God teaches about them, for one of the devices that our adversary the devil uses to lead saints into error, is through his counterfeit display of the supernatural. And so, it is very important that we know the true, so we can more easily identify the false when it is manifested and thus avoid it. In this section we will discuss biblical accounts of encounters that believer’s can have with the Holy Spirit after their initial baptism, and as we will see, it is entirely scriptural for these encounters to take place. The subsequent supernatural encounters or signs that can take place can be divided into two separate categories. The first category, are signs that the church can expect to see manifested at all times, and the second category, are signs that the church can only expect to see manifested as the Holy Spirit wills. And so, we will discuss the first category in this section.
