A distorted gospel focuses on signs and wonders

Hebrews 2:1-4 “Therefore we must give the more earnest heed to the things we have heard, lest we drift away. (2) For if the word spoken through angels proved steadfast, and every transgression and disobedience received a just reward, (3) how shall we escape if we neglect so great a salvation, which at the first began to be spoken by the Lord, and was confirmed to us by those who heard Him, (4) God also bearing witness both with signs and wonders, with various miracles, and gifts of the Holy Spirit, according to His own will?”

The above passage of scripture again teaches us very clearly that God bears witness, with signs and wonders, to His word that is proclaimed. There are meetings that are held in some parts of the church today, where very little if any of God’s word is taught, and yet they still experience various “signs and wonders” in their meetings. God does not violate His word and so those signs and wonders do not originate from God. The false prophets who are able to display these supernatural manifestations will always teach a distorted gospel that focuses on signs and wonders, and not the gospel of salvation and righteousness. And so, even though these ministers teach no sound doctrine and very little of the gospel, they are always able to produce supernatural manifestations through their ministries, because they are working with demonic powers and not with the Holy Spirit. The majority of their teaching and preaching are made up of stories and testimonies, which are designed to encourage their audience to seek after signs and wonders and be “open” to the spirit realm.
