In the previously quoted passage of scripture, we have already identified who the seven kings are, and we have also identified who the ten kings are. In a later section we will look in more detail at the beast that is called the Anti-Christ. But in this section we want to have a look at the great harlot, referred to in the quoted passage of scripture as “Babylon the great”. The image of the harlot given to us in this passage shows the wealth and luxury of this world being displayed, for the scripture says that “the woman was arrayed in purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious stones and pearls.” Not only do we see the luxury of this world on display but we also see the sin of this world being displayed, for the scripture says that she held “in her hand a golden cup full of abominations and the filthiness of her fornication”. In other words, the Lord is revealing to His saints what this world’s system looks like in the spirit.
