Nevertheless, scripture is clear when it states that it will be the ten leaders (of Islam) that will orchestrate the destruction of the harlot. Someone will ask why it is that these ten Muslim leaders would want to destroy the world’s economies, because surely in destroying it, they will negatively affect their own people. In answer to that question, we can look at the motivation of terror attacks on the world today. As an example, it is estimated that in 2014 alone (and the trend has not changed since then), about 30,000 people were killed in terror attacks worldwide. The vast majority of those perpetrating the violence were Muslim, but so were the victims. In other words, of the approximately 30,000 dead, the vast majority were Muslims. That's crucial to understand, because it sheds light on the question of why these Muslim leaders will want to destroy the world’s system. Islamic terrorists don't just hate America or the West. They hate the modern world, and they particularly hate Muslims who are trying to live in the modern world. And so, it is that hatred that will motivate these leaders to destroy the world system that we know today. That hatred is spiritual in its origin, and we have already seen in scripture, that God Himself has put it into their hearts to fulfill His purpose and bring about the judgment of the great harlot.
