Galatians 2:20 “I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless, I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.”
In the passage of scripture quoted above the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul again confirms the truth to us that all saints have faith. I have quoted this particular verse of scripture from the King James Version of the bible, and the reason for that is because this translation reflects this portion of scripture as it was originally written. Notice that Paul tells us that it is no longer he that is living but rather it is Christ who is living in him. The reason Paul says that is because his old man died and he is now a new creation in Christ Jesus. Paul then goes on to say that the life that he now lives in the flesh he lives “by the faith of the Son of God”. In other words Paul was not living the Christian life by his own faith, but rather he was living it by the faith of Jesus. This truth is applicable to all the saints of God, for with regards to all of us it is no longer we who are living but it is Christ who is living in and through us. And so if it is Christ who is living in us, then He does so by His faith and not by our faith. Therefore just like Paul, the life that we now live in the flesh we live by the faith of the Son of God, for we have been given His faith. This is why scripture teaches us that those who abide in Christ ought to walk even as He walked (1 John 2:6). The reason why we can walk like Jesus walked is because we have been given the same faith that Jesus has.
