Acts 15:14-18 “Simon has declared how God at the first visited the Gentiles to take out of them a people for His name. (15) And with this the words of the prophets agree, just as it is written: (16) ‘After this I will return and will rebuild the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down; I will rebuild its ruins, and I will set it up; (17) so that the rest of mankind may seek the Lord, even all the gentiles who are called by My name, says the Lord who does all these things.' (18) "Known to God from eternity are all His works.” In the passage of scripture quoted above from the book of Acts, the Holy Spirit through the apostle James tells us that there are a finite number of gentiles that are to be saved. For He says, “even all the Gentiles who are called by My name”. When the Holy Spirit says, “all the Gentiles”, He is confirming that none that are called by His name will be left out. But He is also saying that there will be none added after all have been taken in. You will recall that our Lord stated that the time will come when He will shut the door, and none will be allowed into the kingdom after that door is shut (Luke 13:25). Michael E.B. Maher
