1 Samuel 28:16-19 “Then Samuel said: "So why do you ask me, seeing the Lord has departed from you and has become your enemy? (17) And the Lord has done for Himself as He spoke by me. For the Lord has torn the kingdom out of your hand and given it to your neighbor, David. (18) Because you did not obey the voice of the Lord nor execute His fierce wrath upon Amalek, therefore the Lord has done this thing to you this day. (19) Moreover the Lord will also deliver Israel with you into the hand of the Philistines. And tomorrow you and your sons will be with me. The Lord will also deliver the army of Israel into the hand of the Philistines.”
The context of the above passage of scripture is that Samuel, who had died some time before this incident, was speaking to Saul from the realm of the dead. And so this passage again demonstrates to us the knowledge that the saints have in heaven, for as already mentioned; we see that the saints know exactly who will be saved and who will not. That is why Samuel knew that after the death of Saul and his three sons that they would all be taken up to be with him in Paradise. This passage gives us even more insight to the knowledge that the saints have in heaven, for we see that they know when the saints on earth will die. They also know what events will happen in the various nations on the earth, when those events will take place and the outcome of those events. That is why Samuel knew that Israel would go to war with the Philistines, when that war would break out and the outcome of that war. Very clearly, from these passages we see that the saints in heaven have full knowledge of all things, for our Lord Jesus has given them that knowledge.
