Our use of gifts will be judged

1 Peter 4:10 “As each one has received a gift, minister it to one another, as good stewards of the manifold grace of God.”

In the passage of scripture quoted above the Holy Spirit through the apostle Peter reinforces the truth to us that each one of the Lord’s saints has received at least one gift from Him. In this passage Peter teaches us that our Lord expects us to minister our gifts to one another as good stewards of His manifested grace in our lives. And so it is up to each individual believer to seek the Lord and find out from Him what gifting they have received and how He wants them to minister their gift to His body. When believers are obedient to minister their gifts to the church the body of Christ is blessed, nevertheless when believers prove to be disobedient in this area they deprive the body of Christ of the blessing that God intended. And so we can clearly see that to the degree that the saints fulfil God’s will in ministering their gifts to the church will impact either positively or negatively on their day of judgement.

Ephesians 4:7-16 “But to each one of us grace was given according to the measure of Christ's gift. … (16) from whom the whole body, joined and knit together by what every joint supplies, according to the effective working by which every part does its share, causes growth of the body for the edifying of itself in love.”

In the passage of scripture quoted above the Lord makes it very clear that everyone in the body of Christ has a specific function to perform in the church, and it is when every part of the body does its share that the body grows as God intended. In the same manner when believers do not walk in the works God has prepared for them, i.e. they do not do their share, then the church is hindered in its growth. And so we see that each believer will be held to account on their day of judgement for their degree of obedience or disobedience in this area, which will obviously impact on their rewards received or forfeited.
