Our bodies come from Adam

Acts 17:26 “And He has made from one blood every nation of men to dwell on all the face of the earth, and has determined their preappointed times and the boundaries of their dwellings.”

As we have already mentioned, when we are born-again we receive new spirits directly from God, for the scripture teaches us that we are born of God (1 John 3:9). Our bodies on the other hand do not change when we are born-again, for we have the same bodies after we are saved that we had before we were saved. So where do our bodies come from? In the passage of scripture quoted above the Holy Spirit reveals to us that God has made the bodies of every person that has ever been born, from the blood of Adam. And so we see that even though God is the one who forms our bodies in the womb, He uses the same material that He first used when He created Adam.

Romans 5:12 “Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned.”

The above quoted passage of scripture reveals to us that sin entered the world through the sin of Adam. Two things happened to Adam when he sinned. Firstly, his spirit died instantly just as God said it would and he became separated from the life of God (Genesis 2:17). The second thing that happened is that sin entered into his physical body. In other words his body became contaminated with the sin virus. There is a man made doctrine in the church called “original sin”, which states that all men are born into the earth in a sinful condition because they have inherited the sin of Adam. The apostle Paul teaches us differently in this passage of scripture however, for he teaches us that the reason death spreads to all men is because all men commit sin, not because all men are born sinful. And so although there is an element of truth in the “original sin” doctrine it is nevertheless flawed, because the men who wrote it did not understand the biblical difference between the spirit of man and the flesh of man, for as we have already established, the spirit of man comes directly from God but our bodies come from Adam. And so mankind does not inherit the sin virus through his spirit, but rather he inherits it through his body, for when Adam committed sin in the Garden of Eden the sin virus entered his very blood stream, and that sin virus has therefore contaminated every physical body born from that blood ever since.

Romans 7:20-24 “Now if I do what I will not to do, it is no longer I who do it, but sin that dwells in me. (21) I find then a law, that evil is present with me, the one who wills to do good. (22) For I delight in the law of God according to the inward man. (23) But I see another law in my members, warring against the law of my mind, and bringing me into captivity to the law of sin which is in my members. (24) O wretched man that I am! Who will deliver me from this body of death?”

In the above quoted passage of scripture the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul confirms the truth to us that sin resides in our bodies, for He teaches us that the law of sin resides in our members, referring to our physical bodies. In another scripture the apostle Paul refers to our bodies as “the body of sin” (Romans 6:6). And so we see that the physical bodies that we are born into are contaminated with the sin virus from birth, and it is for this reason that mankind is prone to committing sin even from childhood. And it is for this reason that no one is able to live a righteous lifestyle before God no matter how hard they try, for the will of man is not powerful enough to overcome sin in the flesh (Psalm 143:2). From the above passage we can see that even the saints have no power to overcome sin in the flesh, which is why the apostle Paul cried out to God to deliver him from his body of death. For Paul tells us in this passage that his inward man wanted to walk according to the laws of God but that the sin in his flesh forced him to go against God’s laws.
