1 John 4:12 “No one has seen God at any time. If we love one another, God abides in us, and His love has been perfected in us.”
The apostle John, in his letter quoted above, also confirms the truth that no man has seen God at any time. Both Paul and John had, at the time of writing their letters, seen our resurrected Lord. But neither of them had seen God the Father, and both confirmed that it is not yet possible for any man to see God. And so even though in the book of Revelation, our Lord Jesus allowed John to see the form of God on the throne, John was not allowed to see God the Father face to face. Our Lord Jesus in John’s gospel, also confirmed to us that no man has seen God at any time except Himself (John 6:46). And so only Jesus has seen God the Father, and presently it is only Jesus that can see Him. So no saints can worship before the throne of God until the day that our Lord Jesus reveals the Father to His bride in her perfected state, and then we will all see Him face to face for the first time.
Revelation 7:9 “After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude which no one could number, of all nations, tribes, peoples, and tongues, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, clothed with white robes, with palm branches in their hands.”
The account quoted from the book of Revelation above, refers to the first time that the saints will worship before the throne of God. In this account every saint is present before the throne, as the spotless bride of the Lamb. Before this account, the scripture only speaks of the angels and elders worshiping before the throne and after this account, the scripture speaks of different groupings of saints worshiping before the throne. But until the time that the Lord Jesus presents His spotless bride to the Father, no saints can yet see God or worship before His throne.
