No repentance for those who fall away

Hebrews 6:4-6 “For it is impossible for those who were once enlightened, and have tasted the heavenly gift, and have become partakers of the Holy Spirit, (5) and have tasted the good word of God and the powers of the age to come, (6) if they fall away, to renew them again to repentance, since they crucify again for themselves the Son of God, and put Him to an open shame.” The Holy Spirit, in the letter to the Hebrew church quoted above, expanded on the truth that even mature believers can fall away. In this passage of scripture, He speaks about mature believers who have been filled with the Holy Spirit and have even operated in the gifts of the Spirit, falling away. Sin cannot be taken lightly, for if sin is left unchecked it will spread like a cancer. In scripture, the Holy Spirit has warned on more than one occasion that a little leaven leavens’ the whole lump (1 Corinthians 5:6). The apostle Paul stated that he kept his body under and brought it into subjection, lest after having preached to others he would himself be found a castaway (1 Corinthians 9:27). The Holy Spirit, in the passage of scripture quoted above, clearly teaches us that to fall away means to lose one’s salvation, for He tells us that, “it is impossible… to renew them again to repentance”.
