Nine Nations of Antichrist

And so when we compare the geographic boundaries of the nations listed in the previous passage on a modern map, we can see that they encompass the following modern nation states; Lebanon, Syria, Jordan, Iraq, Iran, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, Oman and United Arab Emirates, which is a total of nine nations. As an aside, although Kuwait, Bahrain and Qatar fall within the same geographic boundaries, I have nevertheless excluded them from the list because their small size makes them equivalent to city states rather than nation states.

 As we have already mentioned, it was only in the twentieth century that these nations began to emerge, as each one in turn gained independence as sovereign nation states; beginning with Yemen in 1918, Syria in 1920, Jordan in 1921, Iran in 1925, Iraq in 1932, Saudi Arabia in 1932, Lebanon in 1943, Oman in 1970 and ending with United Arab Emirates in 1971. And so we see from this section that the second key event that must be fulfilled before the Lord returns, has almost been completed; i.e. nine of the ten Islamic states that will comprise the core of the Antichrist’s kingdom are already in place. The one that is missing we will discuss in a later section. Below is a map of the nine Islamic States. The highlighted point on the map is the location where the Antichrist will eventually emerge.
