Luke 9:30-31 “And behold, two men talked with Him, who were Moses and Elijah, (31) who appeared in glory and spoke of His decease which He was about to accomplish at Jerusalem.”
And then we have the incident recorded in the above passage of scripture when our Lord Jesus was transfigured on the mountain. The scripture reveals to us that the two men, who appeared to the Lord on that mountain, were Moses and Elijah. This incident, when they both appeared in glory with our Lord, occurred just before our Lord’s death, burial, and resurrection. Of all the Old Testament prophets, these were the two men chosen by God to discuss with His Son that which Jesus was about to accomplish through His death on the cross. Why is that? The answer is revealed in the following passage of scripture.
