Matthew 10:23 “When they persecute you in this city, flee to another. For assuredly, I say to you, you will not have gone through the cities of Israel before the Son of Man comes.”
I have stated that Israel as a nation will only come to faith in Jesus as their Messiah when they are in the wilderness with the Lord’s two witnesses. The above passage of scripture confirms this truth, for our Lord Jesus stated that those who preach the gospel in Israel would not be able to go through all the towns of Israel before He returns. Naturally speaking, that is an amazing statement when you think about it, because compared to the rest of the world the state of Israel is minuscule. And yet our Lord Jesus said that the end would not come before the gospel had been preached throughout the whole world. But when it comes to Israel, our Lord said that His saints would not be able to preach the gospel in every town in that small nation before He returns. So how is it possible that the gospel will be preached throughout the whole world, but not throughout the whole of Israel? The reason is simple. Until the Anti-Christ is manifested and Israel is forced to flee to the wilderness she will not be receptive to the gospel, for she will still be observant of the Law of Moses. And so the majority of Jews will not be saved through the preaching of the gospel in their towns and cities, but rather through the preaching of the Lord’s two witnesses while they are in exile in the wilderness.
