Israel and Hezbollah

We have seen in this section that Israel is anticipating that it will eventually go to war with Hezbollah, which is based in Lebanon, Syria and Gaza. What is interesting to note about Hezbollah, is that it is a Shi'a Islamist political party and militant group. So why is that important? There are two main streams in the Muslim faith, i.e. Sunni and Shi’a. Currently, there is a power struggle taking place between the two leading states of both religious streams, i.e. Saudi Arabia (of the Sunni stream) and Iran (of the Shi’a stream). Because a war with Israel will be with the Shi’a supported Hezbollah the rest of the Arab world will not interfere, as they will want to see Iran’s influence in the Middle East curbed. One of the profound outcomes that will occur as a result of a war is that not only will God restore Israel to the full borders He has promised her, but that conflict will also result in the destruction of the Dome of the Rock, and the Al-Aksa Mosque on the temple mount. This will obviously pave the way for the nation of Israel to once again build the Lord’s temple on that site, and that construction will go ahead. The world’s political landscape would have changed sufficiently by that time, so that none will interfere with either the change to Israel’s borders or the building of the temple. Michael E.B. Maher
