He will break his covenant

Daniel 9:27 “Then he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week; But in the middle of the week He shall bring an end to sacrifice and offering. And on the wing of abominations shall be one who makes desolate, even until the consummation, which is determined, is poured out on the desolate.”

It is highly likely that the assassination attempt made on the life of the Anti-Christ will take place in the city of Jerusalem, and more specifically in the temple. But three-and-a-half years before this event, the Anti-Christ will have already risen to become the leader of the Muslim world. And it will be in that capacity, that he will negotiate a seven-year peace treaty between the Muslim world and the nation of Israel. The above passage of scripture refers to that event, for it says “he shall confirm a covenant with many for one week”. The scripture goes on to tell us that the Anti-Christ will bring an end to sacrifice and offering in the middle of the week. In other words, he will break his treaty with Israel half way through the period of that treaty, and in doing so; he will bring an end to Israel’s temple worship. As we will see later in this teaching, the reason that he will be able to put a stop to Israel’s temple worship is because his armies will invade Israel at that time.
