God does not want us isolated

1 Corinthians 5:9-10 “I wrote to you in my epistle not to keep company with sexually immoral people. (10) Yet I certainly did not mean with the sexually immoral people of this world, or with the covetous, or extortioners, or idolaters, since then you would need to go out of the world.”

I stated earlier that when God tells us to come out of the world He is not telling us to live in isolation from the world, but rather that we are not to partake in the covetousness and sin that is in the world. The Holy Spirit in the above passage of scripture confirms that truth for us. For it is not the will of God that His children should isolate themselves from the world, but rather that we should live separated lives in the world, as light and salt in the world. And so when God tells us to come out of the world, He is telling us not to partake in the lusts and covetousness that forms part of this world’s system.
