Christians will have to make a choice

So why will an increase of sin in the world affect the believers love for God? The definition of sin is disobedience to God’s laws. And so as this world becomes more and more “liberal”, they are actually becoming more and more sinful. In other words, norms in society are becoming more and more diametrically opposed to God’s laws. This environment places believers in a situation where they are forced to make a choice. Do they continue to obey God’s laws and thus become more and more offensive to society, or do they begin to abandon God’s laws in favour of being accepted by society? Also, for Christians to speak against sinful practices will be to speak against what society calls normal, and therefore it is the Christian who will find themselves outside of “normal” society. As a result, many believers will not be able to endure that stigma and so will rather back down on their Christian beliefs. And so when faced with obeying God and not condoning such acts, many Christians will in fact support such acts, and thus find themselves joining the world and opposing God. Many churches and many influential leaders of those churches will hold that view, and in fact we are already seeing that taking place, even in the church today. This is where many believers then begin to allow their love for God to grow cold, for their love for the world begins to outweigh their love for God. And so the way that they justify their decision, is to proclaim that they are actually walking in love by not offending others. And on the surface that seems like a good justification for their actions, for they proclaim that they do not want to offend people but rather show them the love of God, for God is love, and by doing so God will eventually change them.
